Our second day in Singapore moved in a bit slow paced since we were all tired from yesterday and the other day’s accomplishment. So today, we’ve decided to spend our 2nd day in Singapore shopping main district- Orchard road.

Electronics shopping
Spent the whole day there and I was looking out for a new camera and a new portable hard drive (to go with my blogging career now J). Many have said to me that buying electronics in Singapore is much cheaper plus you can save more because of the rebate given by the government. Sadly, I wasn’t able to find any affordable cam and hard drive.
Books and more books
If there is something I love about Singapore is that their bookstores have very extensive collections of hard to find books. Although quite expensive when converted, I hoarded on several author’s book that I am collecting and those that I can’t find back in the phil. My baggage is already overweight when I came in Singapore but I am a book lover first. ( Must find way to have the excess waive off! haha)
Food for the love of it
Mmmm.. Spicy food- I love. Food tripping is my other past time in life. Whenever I get to travel I make sure to try and eat something new and famous cuisines in a country. Food is where you can experience their culture in one big plate all for you to savour. So far, have tasted Laksa, Roti, Chili crab and bamboo juice.
We went back to our hotel around 11:30 pm; dead tired I must say. This was, however our last day in Singapore before we head off to Malaysia, so we’ve decided to extend our Singapore experience by not sleeping anymore (since we need to head out in the airport by 3 am) and decided to go around the city instead. Three of my friends said pass and said they were hitting the sack; so it was just me and P. (my other friend). We had to check in the net first places to go in Singapore at night.

First, we went to Mustafa Center which sounded reasonable at first because while checking the net, people have recommended it as a mall with good buys which is open 24/7. Bad idea. Spent some good dollars to only find a dissatisfying mall ( nothing to buy and nothing much to expect). We were in and out the Mustafa mall by 10 minutes.
So where to spend our last few hours in Singapore??
Decided to hop on the bus and go to Clarke Quay instead. Problem was, buses by this time were already minimal and the MRT is already closed. We had to wait more 30 minutes for our bus to come and the area where we are is not a safe area to be in by night. Panic mode!Almost scared my pants out there. Luckily, the bus came and off we went to Clarke Quay (we were the only passenger the whole time in the bus from little India to Clarke Quay).
Gmax bungee is located in Clarke Quay. We would have done this in the afternoon today but the weather was not cooperating (Gmax does not operate when raining). But tonight, the weather was just the perfect moment to try it. So we brave the Gmax counter and bought a combination ticket of the Gmax bungee (which seats 3 people) and the Gmax Swing (which seats 5). The guy first said we can to the Gmax swing first since there was no queue there. The whole Gmax idea seems a good idea at first but when you get there and at the moment where you are already seated in that thing- you just regret. Regretting of why not being just tucked safely in the bed and sleeping soundly!! Seriously, it was a decision made out of the spur of the moment and a darn crazy thing to do in the middle of the night. So we’ve said:” What the heck! We are here. Must try it now” This is what life should be and needed-a little excitement and adventure from time to time.
My friend and I were seated away from each other and had to share our ride with two hindu guys as well. Another bad idea. Of course, when you are at this situation you want/need your friend’s support to calm your nerves. As we were going up and the swing is moving in 90 degrees angle- my whole life suddenly flashed over me and I was already swearing like a navy. We had to wait in our seats( in 90 degree angle and way way way up in the sky) till the green light button to light up and be pressed so that our swing will be released and moved ( think: pendulum. We were the ball one in the pendulum.)Green button lighted on. My friend was the one who had to press the button, how nerving must that have been. At least on my part, I don’t know where the scary part of the ride would start. She pushed the button and off we went to the sky. CRAZZZZZZY FUN!!!! The whole ride lasted about 2 minutes- a darn good 2 minutes!

We were so high and were so hype to ride the Gmax Bungee next. Gmax Bungee is a different ride. It moves up and down unlike the swing which moves in sidewards. And this time, we don’t have control over the thing. We just sat and enjoyed the ride. Ride lasted about 1.30 minutes or so. This ride was much more gut wrenching and would put your bladder in tumbling ways.
Before the rides, we were already a bit sleepy and tired but after riding our body feel energized. It was an adrenaline rush. So much adrenaline that we’ve decided to walk from Clarke Quay to our next destination: the Merlion Statue. We walked for almost 20 minutes to the Merlion statue by following the river path. Took tourist picture with the Merlion Statue, Esplanade and the Singapore flyer.
It was already around 1:30 am and there were no buses already by this time. So still high from the Gmax, we went on our walk and walk to our hotel. We walked almost 40 minutes from the Merlion statue to our hotel. The most tiring thing I’ve ever done and yet it was fun. My friend and I laughed the whole way. J
Finally back at the hotel, we still had to packed bags, and hopefully catch a few zzz’s before heading out to the airport.
But something happened… (read the next entry to know)
